This hoodie was the first item I picked up from TheLees and it turned out to be the start of an ever-growing collection for a couple good reasons.
First up, customer service! I was wary of jacket-shopping online because I often have trouble finding coats that fit me properly. I'm narrow across the shoulders and chest so it's easy for jackets to just hang off me shapelessly. But I dropped an email to the staff with my measurements and concerns and they were extremely helpful in providing information and suggestions about the jacket's fit and which size would suit me best. Super prompt, too; I'd got my reply by the next day. So convenience abounds.
I took the standard shipping so I can't say much to that. It took exactly as long as they said it would, haha.
Now for the jacket. I picked this one in wine red, and any worry about the true life color are easy to put aside. The pictures on the site make it look a little washed out or pale, but in-hand, the red is nice and dark. It's a really attractive color.I like that it isn't a true RED-red; it stands out more that way, as being different from everything else on the street.
One thing I like a lot about this hoodie is just how deep the hood is. After a couple wears to relax the fabric the hood falls easily over my brow, so it's great for keeping out wind and rain, which is important for someone in Seattle, ahem. I don't have any trouble with wind snatching this hood off; it's deep enough to stay put at whatever level you like the most. And the way it buttons across the collarbone makes it even better for nasty weather.
Pockets! The pockets are nice and deep. They'll hold your cell phone or wallet and you'll hardly be able to tell they're even full.
Also I'd like to throw in that because of its asymmetrical design, there's no irritating zipper bulge like you'll run into with a lot of zip-up hoodies. The front lays flat at all times, even when sitting down. And the collar falls just as attractively as the pictures suggest when only half-zipped, so that unique look carries on. I can't count the number of times I've been complimented on this hoodie. It just stands out.
It fits great. On someone taller it would probably fit more snugly, but on me the medium is just loose enough to wear comfortably over even a couple layers of clothes. For reference and comparison, I'm 16 inches across the shoulders and my chest is 30 inches around. So like I said, anyone bigger and it will fit nice and slim, but I like that it has a little breathing room on me.
Wear and tear. I've had this hoodie for a couple months now and as of yet, I've had no problems with the material stretching out or any seams coming undone. It looked well-made when I got it in the mail and it's held up to that standard since, even with constant wear and the occasional washing. The only problem I have seen is that the color has started to chip off the big button at the throat, but as I said I've machine washed it a few times now so I take responsibility for that.
So basically from shipping to durability test, this hoodie rocks. I love it in red and I will probably pick it up in black or grey as well. I'd recommend it to anyone in a heartbeat. I'm recommending it to you right now!
