You suggested that I ask if I'm unsure regarding coat sizes, which I am-
I am 6'1-6'2 and 140lbs. This puts me firmly nowhere on the sizing chart. I'm currently leaning towards a medium, but I'd like to know what your opinion/advice might be.

Thanks for the message.
You fall in two sizes sir, your height suggest me of US XL but this will be too loose for your weight since you fall in US S only.
This is based on general size chart we are using in our shop for normal body built (not fat or muscular). It does not guarantee 100% free of size discrepancy, as body built varies.
But, it works most of the time for our customers.
Here is general size info.
-US S size = ~5'7", 135 lbs
-US M size = ~5'9", 155 lbs
-US L size = ~5'11", 175 lbs
-US XL size = ~6'1", 195 lbs
