I am 6ft tall and 170 pounds. What size would you recommend for a slim fit cardigan? I don't want it to squeeze me, but I also don't want it to hang off of me.

Thanks for the message.
Your height and weight is clearly stating that our US L is a good fit for you sir.
This is based on general size chart we are using in our shop for normal body built (not fat or muscular). It does not guarantee 100% free of size discrepancy, as body built varies.
But, it works most of the time for our customers.
Here is general size info.
-US S size = ~5'7", 135 lbs
-US M size = ~5'9", 155 lbs
-US L size = ~5'11", 175 lbs
-US XL size = ~6'1", 195 lbs
