Hello,
I'm not sure about getting a L or XL with this cardigan, I'm 6' but weigh about 155lbs and have a chest measurement of about 39"; which size do you think would be better for me?
I bought a coat last year from you in an XL and it fits quite well, would it be safe to go by the same size?

Given your height and weight, I think our L (US Medium) for that item will fit you.
However, I'm kinda concerned about the length of the item for you since US Medium size fits a person with a height of 5'9 and weighs 155 lbs.
I strongly suggest to take a look at the size chart provided for item GD132.
There, you will have further details about the specific measurement of the item in each sizes like the measurement of shoulder, chest, sleeve, and it's total length for each sizes.
