If you are kinda on the slim side, I think the Medium (US XS) size of item VS71 will fit you.
However, you've stated that you have an athletic build..
In that, I think it would be better to choose the Large (US Small) size of item VS71 as it covers a person with a height of 5'7 and weighs 135 lbs.
In this size, we can prevent your shirt from being tight in your shoulder, arm, and chest.
What do you think so?

-US M size = ~5'9", 155 lbs
-US L size = ~5'11", 175 lbs
-US XL size = ~6'1", 195 lbs
