Let me start by saying that I have expensive taste. I'm not in the slightest bit interested in fashion nor am I at all fashionable but I do enjoy smart looking, well made clothing. Such clothing normally comes at a high price be it from chain shops on the high street, little independent boutiques or a professional tailor. Having said that however, my bank balance reveals that I am far from being in a position whereby I could justify paying such high prices for clothing thus my seemingly endless search for quality clothing at relatively low prices.
My latest such endeavour found me searching for a light autumnal jacket. I found many that appealed in style but not in price in what was a long trudge through both the real and virtual marketplaces. My search eventually led me here to Thelees where I first laid eyes on the above jacket. As you can most likely tell from the photos I have a preference for earthly colours, most notably brown, so when I came across this jacket it instantly caught my eye. With its comparatively low price not to mention its simplistic yet smart design and lovely beige colour I knew it warranted further investigation. Size is a big factor when searching for clothes as I am rather tall with the biggest sticking point being the lengths of my arms which, happen to be slightly longer than is normal. I took all my measurements and even measured my favourite tailored overcoat to find the correct size and came to the easy conclusion that I would need the largest size available.
I was slightly worried that said jacket was being manufactured and sent from South Korea as that is a world that I am most unfamiliar with but I threw caution to the wind and made my purchase. I chose express shipping as the price increase was only minimal from the standard and I must say I was very impressed with the speed in which the jacket was delivered. Here lies my one complaint however, but it is not really directed at Thelees. I received a phone call from DHL to say that Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs had placed a customs charge of 18.06 sterling on my package and that I needed to pay them before they would deliver it to me. This charge combined with the shipping charges made my purchase rather less of a bargain than had originally been thought but I shan't complain as it still works out to a fair few pounds less than that which, I would find on the high street.
The material is most peculiar for a jacket or coat, rather like that of a hooded jumper or the like and as advertised is indeed stretchy but it really does work somehow. It fits me well all over, including in my problematic arms and hangs very well in general I feel. It is lovely and warm and has an ample amount of pockets for storing one's treasures. The buttons are well sewn on and the rest of the stitching follows suit. All in all I am most pleased as it has the potential to become a mainstay of my wardrobe, being a staple for those chilly, British autumn days. I have also just realised just how long winded this review is and for that I apologise but I shall make the following conclusion:
My jacket is comfortable, smart, warm, well made and most importantly I feel, as far as those who are reading this are concerned, very much like the description and photos would suggest. So thank you Thelees for providing me with a cheap alternative to the high street that is both well made and stylish. I may just return for more.
